ILS

The Soteria Group’s Immediate Life Support (ILS) course is a one-day programme designed to prepare healthcare professionals to confidently manage cardiac arrest and acute clinical deterioration in the critical moments before advanced or specialist support arrives.

Delivered in line with Resuscitation Council UK standards and recognised through ProTrainings UK, this course goes beyond algorithm memorisation. It focuses on real-world decision-making, human factors, and effective team performance under pressure.

Using the ABCDE approach (Airway, Breathing, Circulation, Disability, Exposure), participants develop the skills required to rapidly assess, prioritise, and intervene in life-threatening situations. Training includes high-quality CPR, manual and AED defibrillation, basic airway management, and the identification and treatment of reversible causes of cardiac arrest.

Who It’s For

This course is designed for doctors, nurses, paramedics, midwives, and other healthcare professionals who may be required to act as first responders or early team members during a cardiac arrest or medical emergency.

How It’s Delivered

True to The Soteria Group’s approach, learning is practical, immersive, and scenario-led. The course blends concise teaching with hands-on skills stations and realistic simulations that reflect the pressures and constraints of real clinical environments. Emphasis is placed on communication, role clarity, and working effectively within a resuscitation team.

What You’ll Gain

Participants will leave with increased confidence in recognising and managing the deteriorating patient, performing early life-saving interventions, and contributing effectively to coordinated resuscitation efforts.

Certification

ILS certification is internationally recognised across the UK, EU, and Australia, and is typically valid for three years.

This course supports The Soteria Group’s commitment to clinically credible, operationally relevant training that prepares professionals for when performance truly matters.
